The Photographic Archives manage the photographic/archival material produced and used by the research programmes, publishing activities and scientific events, as well as the material of the thematic sections in the exhibition areas of the Foundation's Museum Network.

The photographic/archival material is organized according to international standards and sound management practices. It comprises a variety of media, while its thematic sections cover subjects that are in general related to Greece's traditional technology and industrial heritage: sericulture, olive cultivation, architecture, hydraulic installations, medicinal plants, tanning, basketry, metalworking and traditional crafts are some of the subjects on which rich photographic material is available.

At the same time, the Department of Photographic Archives has adopted technologies aimed at efficiently supporting the Foundation's information system, with an emphasis on the management, documentation and digitization of its collections of archival material, bibliographic documents and museum exhibits.
