«Myrtis» at the Museum of Marble Crafts!
2011-06-17: The extremely successful exhibition "Myrtis: Face to-Face with the Past" is about to begin its journey to the seven museums of the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation (PIOP). Its first stop will be at the Museum of Marble Crafts, in Tinos.
Visitors to the "Myrtis" exhibition will have the opportunity of becoming acquainted with a noteworthy scientific achievement: the reconstruction of the features of a young girl who died in the great plague of Athens in 430 BCE. The facial reconstruction project was a vanguard endeavour worldwide, which started following the archaeological finds uncovered by an excavation at the ancient Kerameikos cemetery. It should also be noted that, when the exhibition opens at the Rooftile and Brickworks Museum N. & S. Tsalapatas, in Volos, it will also be accessible to the sight-impaired. Duration: 2011-06-17 to 2011-01-02. Info: www.myrtis.gr
