The people’s machine… Museum of Industrial Olive-Oil Production of Lesvos (Aghia Paraskevi Lesvos island)

This educational pack, available in Greek only, comprises the following:
The teacher's handbook, a museo-pedagogical approach with texts by Niki Nikonanou (which analyzes the pack's content, offers instructions to teachers on how to use it and presents the educational material organized according to three age groups).

#Three packets of activity cards for the children:
1. Production cards,
2. Exploration sheets,
3. Role cards.

#Books-aids for teachers:

Unwinding a cocoon…Silk Museum (Soufli - Thrace)

The Silk Museum's educational pack comprises:

a. A handbook for the teacher with information and suggested activities, called Unwinding a cocoon.
b. A fairytale for children in the lower grades of primary school titled
And my granny used to tell me, you know….
c. A book called From cocoon to silk: sericulture and silk manufacturing, which treats the subject of sericulture and silk production in simple and accessible language and is accompanied by rich photographic material, both archival and contemporary.
d. Three games, of which two are memory, observation and discovery games The cocoon and silk and Traditional costumes and ornaments, while the third Women of Soufli is a cut-out game. The games' pictures are from the Museum's collections.
e. The colours of silk: a paper circle with the different colours and the origin of natural (plant and animal) dyes.
f. Lastly, the themes of the gifts the children receive (posters, bookmarks, badges) are drawn from the Museum's collections.


With the force of water..Museum of Water Power (Dimitsana - Peloponnese)

The pack contains the following material:

# The water mill and the fulling mill
(a handbook for the teacher, with information and suggested activities),
# The gunpowder mill (a handbook for the teacher, with information and suggested activities),
# The tanneries (a handbook for the teacher, with information and suggested activities).
The pack is completed by the book The diary of a tanner, a story for primary school pupils authored by Niki Psarraki-Belesioti, and publications of the Outdoor Museum of Hydraulic Power, as well as a video on "Loussios: the river and life".


The story of the old olive tree and the adventures of olive oil…Museum of the Olive and Greek Olive Oil (Sparta - Peloponnese)

The pack contains the following material:

# A handbook for the teacher, with information and suggested activities.
# Activity cards for: a) kindergarten and the first three grades of primary school, b) the last three grades of primary school and, c) the first three grades of secondary school.
The pack is completed by the book The olive's tears, a folktale from the island of Samos, for primary school children and the book The roads of olive oil in the Eastern and Southern Peloponnese during antiquity by G. A. Pikoulas for older children, as well as games, a CD and other publications of the Museum of the Olive and Greek Olive Oil.
