09jan.09: At its traditional formal sitting of December 30, 2008, the Academy of Athens awarded, in the section of Ethical and Political Sciences, the prize of the «Konstantinos S. Kapsaskis» Foundation, in memory of Konstantinos Kapsaskis, which is accompanied by a monetary prize of 15,000 euros and concerns the best published work on the banking system and the Greek economy of the past three years, to Mr. Christos Desyllas for his book I trapeza ton ptochon, to Monte di Pieta tis Kerkyras (1630-1864) [The bank of the poor, the Monte di Pieta of Corfu (1630-1864)], Cultural Foundation of the Bank of Piraeus Group (PIOP), Athens 2006.
