Conference on “The know-how of stone working in the Aegean region”
Tinos, 10-12 October 2003
 
 The subject of the congress is to identify the factors that may contribute to the rescue and preservation of traditional marble working and its applications in buildings on the Aegean islands.  During the congress there will be a presentation of the Museum of Marble Working, which is currently under- construction.  This is being set up by the Foundation in Pyrgos, Tinos, with the aim of becoming an attraction for visitors and an information centre for the specific identity of marble working in Tinos.
 The conference is organized under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture.
