2010-03-08:  On Monday, March 08 at 8pm the opening of the  art exhibition titled  «Land of Thessaly» will be held at the Rooftile and Brickworks Museum N. & S. Tsalapatas in Volos. Organized by the Piraeus Bank Cultural Foundation, the exhibition will run through to May 31, 2010.

Exhibition curator Elissavet Plessa writes: "In exhibiting the works of his "Land of Thessaly" in the old factory, Micha?lidis has succeeded, far from the logic of an installation or a semantic approach, in bringing forth the existing visual affinities between his long-drawn brushstrokes and the continuity of the water pipes, between the ochre colours and the earth that his papers and the brick walls share - but also to plunge our gaze into the same deep blue of water that his works and the empty reservoirs' memories stir up. Here, his vibrating compositions have retained the force of fluidity, have subjected themselves naturally and autonomously to the supremacy and the history of the space where they were placed, quietly convincing as to the fact they remain faithful to their particular identity".

The exhibition will be inaugurated by prof. Massimo Negri director of the European Museum Academy.
