2010-09-24:The film "Words made of marble" by Yannis Kamarinos will be screened at the Museum of Marble Crafts, Tinos, on Friday 24 September 2010, at 7.30 p.m. Entrance free.
According to director Y. Kamarinos: “During the 20th century, many technicians and workers of the marble have been settled around the mountain of Penteli. They came from the islands of Cyclades, Rhodes, Crete, even from the distant place of Thrace. They went ahead of an ancient tradition but since nowadays (35 years after stopping their action) their history is not known at all. So, the subject of this movie is the people that worked at the open-quarries. It is the very first time that they describe ‘on camera’ the extremely hard working conditions, their techniques and tools. They expose their feelings about life and they express their opposition for the ongoing natural disaster of the famous Greek mountain, where they spent their youth as quarrymen”.

The film was produced in 2007 and has been screened at several festivals in Greece. Running time: 39 minutes.
