11th Scientific Conference on the history of Chios Mastic
10oct08: The Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation organizes its 11th Scientific Conference on the history of Chios Mastic, at the Homerion Cultural Center of Chios Municipality, on October 17-19, 2008. The Conference is co-financed by the Chios Mastiha Growers Association.
The aim of the Conference is to promote the historical research and documentation of the traditional ways of production, processing and consumption of the Chios Mastic. The objective is to achieve an interdisciplinary and diachronic approach to the subject and to examine the economic, social and cultural aspects related to it. Aiming at the same scope, the Foundation is also preparing a Thematic Museum on the history of Chios Mastic, to be established in the island of Chios.
