World Water Day @ the Environment Museum of Stymphalia
2011-04-01: On the occasion of the celebration of the World Water Day at the Environment Museum of Stymphalia, a 3-day educational program - artistic workshop took place, addressed to school groups.
The flow, stagnancy, or spouting of water in the Stymphalia region shaped the natural environment, and defined the way that living creatures adjusted to it. Far from the myths about the dark waters of the lake, man has elaborated ways of overcoming the force of water, for his own benefit. This everlasting effort is also depicted in the arts, in multiple ways, whilst it is often that nature becomes the creator of works of art. Who could spot the difference?
It is to this very question that schoolchildren of the Korinthia region that participated to the 3-day educational program tried to reply. The program, which was organized on the occasion of the World Water Day at the Environment Museum of Stymphalia on March 30th and 31st and on April 1st 2011, comprised a familiarization the relevant to water exhibition units, a presentation of water in the arts and an artistic educational workshop.
