The Department of Publications of the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation essentially aims to fill in the research gap observed in Greece in the field of industrial archaeology and the history of technology and, in parallel, to republish old books, now out of print, which are of use to modern historiography. The works published to date are grouped into the following publishing series:

1. Monographs
2. Science and Technology
3. Museology
4. Reference Points
5. Conference proceedings
6. Industrial Heritage
7. Contributions
8. Cultural guides
9. Our Museums
10. Tales for children
11. Periodical Technologia
12. Educational packs

1. The "Monographs" series comprises original works by Greek scholars, mainly doctoral theses approved by a jury, and the papers resulting from the Foundation's research projects. The topics these cover refer essentially to building techniques, architecture, naval architecture and shipbuilding, metalworking, public works, shipping, etc.

2. The "Science and Technology" series corresponds to translations of classic foreign handbooks on industrial archaeology and the history of techniques.

3. The series on "Museology" comprises useful reference books and theoretical works for both specialists and the general public.

4. The "Reference Points" series is composed of reprints of old Greek publications on the history of the country's economy and industry that are no longer easily available to researchers.

5. The series "Conference proceedings" covers the proceedings of the Three-Day Workshops organized by the Foundation, as well as those of certain conferences relating to the topics the Foundation is interested in.

6. The "Industrial Heritage" series comprises detailed descriptions and plans of cottage-industry installations and industrial complexes so as to contribute to their preservation.

7. The series "Contributions" is characterized by a diversity of subjects and approaches relating to science and the arts.

8. The series "Cultural guides" comprises cultural guides to various regions and publications of an ecological content.

9. The series "Our Museums" is composed of the guidebooks to the museums that the Foundation has created and runs.

10. The series "Tales for children", which is gradually being enriched with new publications, functions as additional material that supports the "Educational packs" and is addressed essentially at young children. The "Tales for children", now also available to the general public as independent volumes, are based on folk tales and stories, as well as on traditional society's economic aspects and processes that relate directly to the PIOP Museums' themes. In other words, it concerns products such as olives and olive oil, materials such as marble and leather, their uses and their elaboration with respect to social needs. Consequently, the retelling of folk tales and their adaptation to contemporary situations is aimed at offering an insight into the pre-industrial production methods and traditional technology, such as waterpower, marble carving, etc.

11. The periodical "Technologia", which was the Foundation's annual bulletin between 1987 and 2001, was targeted at readers with a special interest in the history of technology and industrial archaeology. It also contained information on museums, conferences and publications relating to these fields and can be consulted online here.

12.
The "Educational packs" series covers the educational material for the museums created and run by the Foundation.
