Special Library

The Special Library of the Historical Archives Department contains important material that originated from the libraries of the Economic Development Financing Organization (EDFO), the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), the Hellenic Industrial Development Bank (ETBAbank) and the Chios Bank.

At present, the Special Library has approximately 10,000
titles of Greek and foreign books, periodicals, and brochures, which concern subjects related to industry, history, the economy, banking, technology and the law.

The Library's functions are automated according to the ABEKT 5.6 system elaborated by the Greek National Documentation Centre. The books are classified according to the DEWEY decimal system (DDC) and are catalogued according to the Anglo-American cataloguing rules (AACR2). It is possible to search for bibliographical information in the material of the Library's collections through its digital catalogue (OPAC). With a view to providing information and supporting the research possibilities of the Historical Archives Department's users, the library is constantly enriching its collections with titles concerning economic history and the history of banks and firms, while its specialized staff is at the users' disposal to carry out the necessary research they request.

Search in the library's collections through its
Online Catalogue (OPAC)
or via the:
Online Humanities Catalogue of the "ARGO" information platform.
