PUBLICATIONS

The Publications Service of the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation aims to fill the gap observed in research in Greece, in the fields of history of technology and industrial archaeology, while republishing old works, now out of print, containing information useful to modern historiography. The works published to date are classified in the following publication series:

1. Monographs Series: It contains original papers by Greek scholars, mainly theses and dissertations that have been evaluated by committees, as well as the results of research projects planned by the Foundation. The topics pertain mainly to building, architecture, shipbuilding, metalworking, public works, shipping etc.
2. Translations Series: It contains translations of foreign classic handbooks on industrial archaeology and the history of techniques.
3. Reprints Series: It contains reprints of old Greek publications on the history of the Greek economy and industry, which are not widely available to researchers.
4. Conference Proceedings: This series contains the proceedings of the Three-day workshops organized by the Foundation, as well as proceedings of scientific conferences within the Foundation’s sphere of scientific interest.
5. Cultural Guides Series: It contains cultural guides for various areas and ecology publications.
6. Books about Museums Series: The guides in this series relate to museums created or managed by the Foundation.
7. Industrial Heritage Records Series: This includes records and plans made of domestic manufacturing and industrial units, in order to contribute to their salvation.
8. Periodical Technology:  The annual publication of the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation is sent out to 4,000 readers, who are interested in the history of technology and industrial archaeology.  It provides information and specialist opinions on topics such as museum creation and management, organisation of congresses, as well as other scientific events relating to the aforementioned sectors.
9. Video and CD-Rom: The subjects of Videotapes and CD-RÏÌ pertain to the scientific research conducted by the Foundation.

The subject of the Foundation’s publications will soon be enriched to serve the Foundations’ new aims.

The Foundation’s publications are available from all the bookshops.
