Celebrating European Artistic Craft Days in the Silk Museum

The Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation (PIOP), in the framework of this year’s European Artistic Craft Days (28/3-3/4), on Sunday 3 April (at 11:00) organizes a special craftsmanship workshop for adults, titled “Embroidering memories with silk”, in the Silk Museum in Soufli.

Guided by artist Christos Kollias, participants will refashion old black and white photographs in new colours and textures by embroidering on them details with silk thread.

The European Artistic Craft Days (www.journeesdesmetiersdart.fr) have been established as an annual springtime institution in many European countries since 2002. For the 2022 edition, the theme is “Our Hands in Unison”.

PIOP’s activities this year are dedicated to the memory of architect Eleni Pagratiou-Alexaki, who first organized the European Artistic Craft Days in Greece in 2016.

Participation and materials are free of charge.
Registration is required.

For more information and reservations, you can contact the Museum at the telephone number 25540 23700 (daily except Tuesday, 10:00-18:00).

*Due to special circumstances, setting public health as a priority, the activity will take place in compliance with the prescribed measures.
