Celebrating the European Artistic Craft Days in the Environment Museum of Stymphalia
3.4.2024

On the occasion of this year's European Artistic Craft Days (2-7/4), the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation (PIOP) organises a demonstration of how to make a komboloi [bead rosary], for primary school students on Wednesday 3 April 2024 (11:00) in the Environment Museum of Stymphalia.

Craftsman Ioannis Rasoulis will talk to the students about the origins of the komboloi and its value to collectors, while the children will have the opportunity to learn about the materials, the tools and the successive stages required for its construction.

The European Artistic Craft Days (www.journeesdesmetiersdart.fr) have been established as an annual springtime institution in many European countries since 2002. For the 2024 edition, the theme is “Little fingers, expert hands”.

Participation and materials are free of charge. Registration is required.

For more information and reservations, schools can contact the Museum at the telephone number 27470 22296 (daily except Tuesday, 10:00-18:00).
