On the occasion of the International Day of Forests (21/3), the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation (PIOP) presents the art installation "I found myself within a forest" by Gioula and Olga Papadopoulou, starting from Thursday 21 March 2024, in the Open-Air Water Power Museum in Dimitsana.

With the power of water and the nature that surrounds the Museum as a reference point, the joint installation of the artists consists of two works that communicate posing philosophical questions about the cycle of life.

The three-part video projection by Gioula Papadopoulou entitled "I found myself within a forest" juxtaposes images from visual formations of the water and morphological transformations of tree trunks and branches, within a soundscape of water. Focusing on the conceptual connection between the elements of forest and water, she creates dreamlike and transcendental compositions.

In Olga Papadopoulou's sculptural installation titled "(I am) the tree and (I am) the forest", black and white drawings depicting dried tree trunks and branches compose an experiential forest landscape in the peculiar form of a three-dimensional puzzle. Tree forms are deconstructed or reconstructed, while the whole forest becomes visible only from a single perspective.

Wandering in the virtual forest, visitors are invited to discover their relationship with nature and reflect on the concepts of care, rejuvenation, coexistence, nature and life itself.
