Due to high demand and continued interest, the temporary exhibition “From Silver to Paper” in the Silversmithing Museum is extended until Monday 31 August 2026.

The exhibition, organised in the framework of the Month of Ioannina Silversmithing 2026, presents drawings produced by students of the Department of Visual Arts and Art Sciences at the School of Fine Arts of the University of Ioannina. These works were created throughout the course “Applied Arts – Silversmithing II” taught by Dimos Papadopoulos, jewelry designer and maker.

The enthusiastic response from the public — with more than 7,000 visitors to date — confirms the significance of the exhibition, which fosters dialogue between tradition and contemporary artistic expression. At the same time, it represents another meaningful initiative in the framework of the recent collaboration between the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation and the School of Fine Arts at the University of Ioannina.

Inspired by the history of the city’s centuries-old silversmithing heritage and by decorative motifs at the permanent collection of the Silversmithing Museum, young designers reapproach traditional motifs through contemporary design practices.
