In the framework of the Month of Ioannina Silversmithing 2026, the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation, in cooperation with the School of Fine Arts at the University of Ioannina, organises the temporary exhibition “From Silver to Paper”, inaugurated on Wednesday 13 May 2026 at 19:00 in the Silversmithing Museum.

The exhibition features drawings produced by students of the Department of Visual Arts and Art Sciences, which were created throughout the course “Applied Arts – Silversmithing II” taught by Dimos Papadopoulos, jewelry designer and maker.

Inspired by the wealth of the city’s cultural heritage and by decorative elements of the exhibits at the permanent collection of the Silversmithing Museum, young designers reprocess traditional motifs through contemporary conceptual approaches.

Following the recent signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation and the School of Fine Arts at the University of Ioannina, the exhibition makes a substantial contribution to the connection between the new generation of creators and the history and craftsmanship of silversmithing in the Ioannina region, encouraging the dialogue between tradition and contemporary artistic expression.

The Silversmithing Museum, celebrating 10 years of operation this year, remains open and welcoming as a meeting point for people and ideas.
