Celebrating the European Artistic Craft Days in the Museum of Marble Crafts
5.4.2024

On the occasion of this year's European Artistic Craft Days (2-7/4), the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation (PIOP) organises a mosaic workshop for groups of students from Primary and Secondary Education on Friday 5 April 2024 (10:00-12:00) in the Museum of Marble Crafts.

The students will have the opportunity to discover unique ancient artifacts made of mosaic tiles from the archaeological site of Dilos and the Temple of Poseidon and Amphitrite on Tinos and learn about the materials used by ancient craftsmen. The children will be introduced to mosaic making techniques and, with the guidance of Irini Syrianou, will make their own mosaics.

The European Artistic Craft Days (www.journeesdesmetiersdart.fr) have been established as an annual springtime institution in many European countries since 2002. For the 2024 edition, the theme is “Little fingers, expert hands”.

Participation and materials are free of charge. Registration is required.

For more information and reservations, you can contact the Museum at the telephone number 22830 31290 (daily except Tuesday, 10:00-18:00).
