Celebrating the European Artistic Craft Days in the Open-Air Water Power Museum
6.4.2024

On the occasion of this year's European Artistic Craft Days (2-7/4) and in the framework of the art installation titled "I found myself within a forest" by Gioula and Olga Papadopoulou, the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation (PIOP) organises activities for young and old on Saturday 6 April 2024 in the Open-Air Water Power Museum in Dimitsana.

In particular:

- "The Silver Belt" − Dramatised narration (12:30 14:00)
The tale titled "The Silver Belt", published by PIOP, written by Charis Mega and illustrated by Maria Bacha, is "brought to life" for our young friends from 5 to 12 years old, by the author, actor Aris Nousias and Maria Daskalaki, head of the Piraeus Bank Group Theatre Company. Subsequently, the children will have the opportunity to visit the art installation which is presented in the Museum until 21/6/2024, and they will take part in a related art workshop.

- "Discovering the traditional art of handmade jewels" (13:30-16:00)
Visitors of all ages to the Museum will have the opportunity to watch a demonstration of the design and construction of handmade jewels by students of the Stemnitsa School of Advanced Vocational Training. Then, drawing inspiration from the art installation "I found myself within a forest", they will create their own handmade jewellery.

The European Artistic Craft Days (www.journeesdesmetiersdart.fr) have been established as an annual springtime institution in many European countries since 2002. For the 2024 edition, the theme is “Little fingers, expert hands”.

Participation and materials are free of charge. Registration is required.
